Looping Chess Clock, 1982 Chess Olympiad
A rather wonderful small chess clock - made by Looping of Switzerland. Identical to the Heuer branded clocks (which Looping made). This one has a wonderful potential link to the 1982 Chess Olympiad in Lucerne, Switzerland, where many of the greats played (Tal, Karpov, Timman, Kasparov etc)!
The clock was very generously sold to me by a fellow collector who acquired several from the nephew of Mr Alfred N Becker, who was the Secretary General of the organising committee! A later model, but still with the lovely alumninium body. Wooden end pieces, and plastic buttons. Sticker on bottom reads "Eigentum Verein SOL" (Property of Club SOL).
