Heavy metal Staunton, early 20th century

A very heavy metal Staunton set, 3.85" kings, possibly from early 20th century, but I have seen one reference implying these sets are from the early 1980s! Quite a difference in opinion. I believe the metals used are similar to that used for BCC's presentation Royal Chessmen set ("German silver" and "gilding metal"). The photos look like they have been shot in black and white, but I can assure you they are full colour!
