British Chess Company Royal Chessmen c1891

A lovely set - though with a mixed bunch of BCC pawns of the same style, but differing proportions (some with fat stems, some more slender). The Xylonite knights are big old bruisers who you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley (as one collector commented). The set is heavily weighted with 3.7" kings.
