Cantonese "Burmese pattern" Ivory set, c1820-30
A nice example of an ivory "Burmese" pattern set, very likely made in Canton around 1820-30 for export (as per Michael Mark's Antique Indian Chess Sets (1997)).
Kings are just over 3.5".
This is another set which was very kindly gifted to my collection - and thus saved from the scrapheap.
