The Rose Chess, circa 1942

I had popped into a new large charity shop "superstore" in a local town to drop off a large box of games, chess sets, dominoes etc (which failed to sell at auction) - sadly they were closed for taking donations (they were full!), but I spotted this little lead "The Rose chess" set, so ended up taking away more than I had intended!

This is one of the smallest Rose chess sets, I believe, with just 2" kings, and in its original box, which is nice.  Bottom of the pieces stamped variously with "Rose" and other illegible wording.
