Jaques Ditty Travelling Chess set c1920

Yep. Those are Jaques knights! I present to you "The Ditty Chess Box", circa 1920, which arrived in the post with my wife rattling the parcel saying "I think it's another chess set". Originally priced at 10 shillings sixpence, which seems a lot when compared to the price of a Jaques Staunton set just 20 years prior - perhaps due to rampant inflation in the preceding war years - sadly a similar inflationary  tale today, 100 years on. Fortunately these sets are very affordable today compared to a proper Jaques Staunton set! Two black pawns were missing, and I remade them today in record time (well, they're only little!).
