Jaques In Statu Quo set, c1860

My second Jaques ISQ set - this one has "& Son" added to the Jaques stamp, indicating a manufacture date around 1860 or later, after "Son" had joined the family firm in 1859.  This ISQ was relatively cheap to buy, so I was happy to give restoration a go.  Getting the cases apart was no mean feat, but I tend to dive in with both feet and came out relatively unscathed (this is not always the case!).  A small split piece of wood inside was preventing the mechanism working correctly - some wood glue applied, and some tinkering to the metal plate which holds the pieces, and it was back up and running.

Case is 9 1/4" x 9 3/16", with King height 0.62" (0.97" including the peg) and 0.94".
