Pristine white bone ribbed set, c1880

An incidental purchase - this set came with a very nice red and buff leather chessboard made by Jaques.

Kings stand 4" tall, with basic knights.  The stand out feature of this set is the very high quality bone which was used, and which has stood the test of time remarkably well, with hardly any dark speckles (and, no, it isn't ivory).
