Jaques Staunton "Tarrasch" tournament set c1870
A near pristine example of an unweighted tournament set (kings just shy of 3.5"). The only damage to the set is two minor pawn collar chips (one to white, one to black - perhaps they got into a scrap). This style feels like a transition phase between "Anderssen"/"Steinitz" ("mega mouth") and the "true" Tarrasch, the examples of which I have seen tend to have a thicker head.
