Super-rare Jaques bone set with "reined" knights

A quite lovely Victorian bone set, with the very unusual feature of knights with reins! Whilst I have seen ivory examples of knights with reins, I have not until now seen a bone example (though I am sure they exist somewhere).

What makes this, perhaps, even rarer is it is quite clearly a set made by none other than Jaques of London.  Why am I so sure?  From handling a great many bone sets, and having several which can be attributed to Jaques from the remaining pages featuring chess designs from their pattern book (almost completely destroyed by the bombing of their London factory during WW2), as well as great reference works, such as by Sir Alan Fersht (Jaques and British Chess Company Chess Sets, 2022). The form of the stems is a match to Jaques sets, and the rooks in particular are identical (save turning embelishments).  I will include some comparison photos between this and a Jaques set.

I believe the kings would have sported a Maltese Cross finial, based on the design. Without the finials the kings stand 3.7" tall, and would have undoubtedly been 4", or slightly taller, were they to have their crosses.
