Jaques Staunton Small Club set "Steinitz" c1870

A beautiful small club set from Jaques, well weighted and wondefully executed.  Kings stand just over 3.9", but have replacement wooden crosses, so it is possible the originals took the height up to 4".

I now have small club, tournament and library versions of this style (see the knights comparison photo).

Sadly the set did not come with a box, so I am on the look out (as always) for a small club sized box...probably even rarer than the set itself!
